This 1988 Rover Mini is said to be one of 3,000 Jet Black editions produced. Power comes from a 998cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Modifications consist of 10″ Cosmic wheels, an upgraded exhaust, Personal steering wheel, and a Panasonic cassette player. This example is equipped with factory air conditioning, which is in perfect working order.
The Jet-Black Edition is set apart by a red pinstripe running along the sides and rear, while Jet Black script is found on both rear fenders and the trunk lid as pictured above. An aftermarket exhaust features twin polished tips, recent paint correction. 10″ Cosmic wheels are mounted with S-compound 165/70 Yokohama ADVAN-032R tires. The lug nuts and brake master cylinder were recently replaced, please see closeup pictures of each corner in the gallery.
The seats are upholstered in black velour with red piping and Jet Balck embroidery on the backrests. Red seat belts and wood trim provide further contrast. A two-spoke Personal steering wheel and Panasonic AM/FM cassette player were installed by a previous owner. The steering rack and all three pedals were replaced.
