  • We are excited to present this very nice 1968 Ford Mustang convertible.Code I, Lime Gold is this Mustang's original color, and today the hue represents 1968 perfectly. This sets up for a head-turning appearance because many Mustangs have traded in their pedigrees for wild new colors. But this one goes in the opposite direction, staying true to the original (we even suspect it's mostly the factory paint.) That kind of appearance makes us excited to see a droptop that has stayed true to its roots, right down to those great factory wheel covers with the Mustang logo in the middle. And you can check off how close everything still is to the day it left the Dearborn plant thanks to the included Marti Report. But more than just originality, many of us love these '68s for the design. The slender lines and form fitting chrome bumpers of this icon remain, but this year it evolved into a more sporty feeling with a longer front overhang, deeper c-channel in the sides, and a concave rear end. This pony has flair.
  • One of the coolest colors to go with the dark green exterior is the Ivy Gold interior. Just like the outside, this factory-correct setup is likely original to the car. Plus, we just really enjoy how the two-tone green gives this convertible a nice air of sophistication. In fact, Ford's pony car was growing up in '68, so the interiors were starting to get more spacious and luxurious. And it's seen nicely here with optional items like the automatic transmission, power steering, and deluxe steering wheel. This is such a thorough preservation that even the AM radio still works. But one essential component is thankfully new. The black vinyl top with glass rear window has been replaced recently, so that with a flip of a switch, this power folding roof keeps your classic an all-weather friend.
  • Since the interior and exterior have not bowed to modern conformity, neither will the engine bay. Instead of an overblown V8, this cool cruiser keeps its original-style inline-six. The 200 cubic-inch motor has been maintained nicely, and in fact, the whole car has received the level of care you would want when buying a classic. It includes new components such as a carburetor, three-speed automatic transmission, front suspension arms, u-joints, rear axle seals, fuel pump, and fuel tank. The result is a motor that fires up easily, delightedly offers plenty of power to move you down the road, and all the right upkeep to give you confident over the miles. And when you do take it to car shows, everyone will love to see something this honest and original. After all, the Mustangs were built on the idea of being a practical car for the weekdays and something fun for the weekends, and this droptop does exactly that.
